Rescreen or Rebuild Your Pool Cage?
This guide helps you describe the problem. Only a provider who sees the enclosure can tell you for sure. Call (828) 860-2401. This site is an independent referral service and does not do the work itself.
Signs a rescreen may be enough
- The aluminum frame is straight, solid and firmly attached
- Screens are torn, saggy, faded or brittle, but beams aren't bent
- Spline is popping out or panels are coming loose
- Damage is limited to a few panels, or the screen is simply worn out everywhere
Signs the frame needs repair
- One or a few beams or uprights are bent or cracked
- Brackets or screws are missing or pulled out
- A door frame is out of square and the door won't latch
Signs you may need a rebuild
- Several beams are bent, twisted or broken, or the roof section has dropped
- The cage is pulling away from the house or the deck
- Heavy corrosion at joints and footings
- The cage was crushed by a tree or has partly collapsed
Questions to ask the provider
- Is the frame sound enough to rescreen?
- Which parts need repair, and why?
- Does the job need a permit? See permits and HOA approval.
- Which screen material fits my enclosure?
- Is the provider licensed? Check on the Florida DBPR license search.

How to describe your problem
- Say what you see (for example: two torn panels on the pool side, bent beam, door won't latch).
- Say roughly how many panels are damaged, or whether it's the whole enclosure.
- Say whether the aluminum frame is bent, cracked or loose, or only the screen is damaged.
- Say when the damage happened (storm, tree, wear over time).
- Have photos ready to text or email if the provider asks.
